How we handle your data
This page explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what your rights are under UK GDPR. Last updated: 20 July 2026.
Who we are
This website is operated by Equity Technical Architecture Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17349120, with registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. For the purposes of UK GDPR, we are the data controller for the personal data described on this page.
If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at privacy@equityta.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
| Where | What we collect | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact form | Name, email address, and the content of your message | To respond to your enquiry | Legitimate interest — responding to a request you initiated |
| Stack Assessment | Email address, your assessment score, and risk band | To send you your results and, where relevant, follow up about our services | Legitimate interest — you requested your results in exchange for your email |
We do not collect any other personal data through this website. The Technical Debt Calculator does not store or transmit anything you enter — it runs entirely in your browser.
Where your data is stored
Submitted data is stored in Azure Table Storage, hosted by Microsoft Azure. Microsoft acts as our data processor for this storage. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We retain contact form submissions and assessment leads for no longer than 12 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Cookies
This website does not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Any cookies or local storage used are strictly necessary for the site to function (for example, caching application files for performance) and do not require consent under UK law. If this changes — for example, if we add analytics in future — this policy and the site will be updated accordingly, with a consent banner where required.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to how we use your data, or ask us to restrict its use
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@equityta.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
